Sayonara Soarer…Guten Tag 335i

Word from Vertex reports that Takahiro Ueno will be bidding farewell to his famous Toyota Soarer in exchange for some German engineering…(kinda). His new BMW 335i will be powered by a 2JZ-GTE out of a Toyota Supra!! Takahiro Ueno’s Soarer is the only car he has ever driven in D1 competition as a professional drifter. I am sure he will be sad to see it go as will all of us. However, the prospect of a Supra powered BMW in D1 is very exciting!! It’s probably safe to assume that the paint scheme will be similar to the Soarer. We expect to see Ueno’s new D1 ride at the TAS (Tokyo Auto Salon) in early 09. Can’t wait!
